Emma describes herself as an artist, an interior designer and a yoga teacher. Combining all these skills under one 'roof', Sacred Space Studios unites her passion and skill to design and create beautiful, inspiring and holistic space both within and without.

Emma began her journey with a degree in Fine Art. She then founded a small film and animation company making short films and animated stings. This led to Set Design, Art Directing, and Production Design where she built fantastical film sets and magical interiors to tell stories to take the imagination on a journey.

She then spent seven years art directing for an experiential creative production company. She designed big brand experiences, beautiful pop up bars and interiors, narrative environments and luxury experiential events for brands to launch talked about new products, innovations and identities.

Emma’s career zig-zagged when she left the commercial advertising industry in 2014 to train as a yoga teacher.

She soon began teaching in studios in London and travelling to lead retreats abroad.

Emma has always travelled extensively, specifically in tropical places and is inspired by the tropical lifestyle and design which incorporates nature, natural materials and promotes wellness and a sense of sanctuary.

She began working freelance for a boutique interior design consultancy creating bars, restaurants and hotels. Inspired by her travels and by the combination of her two practices, Emma decided to launch her own business specialising in creating uniquely beautiful spaces infused with imagination and serenity. Her yoga teaching running along side her interior design practice creates a complimentary union of her two passions.

Emma is also a painter. She uses oil on canvas, working with the female body through an exploration of the divine feminine; faces and forms of the Goddess.

Emma has had a dedicated yoga practise for more than 15 years. She has more than 700 hours of teacher training and is a Senior Yoga Teacher registered with The Yoga Alliance Professionals. Her background in dance and Capoeira (teaching both during her twenties) has infused her yoga with the joy of physical movement. She uses this passion to create dynamic, flowing sequences, which she guides her students through gracefully, joining the movements with breath and creating a feeling of lightness, ease and deep relaxation for her students. Her love of handstands and inversions brings a sense of fun and play to her practice and her sequencing.

Emma uses Yin Yoga techniques to balance the dynamic and sometimes challenging Yang style of Vinyasa. She uses Yoga Nidra methods of intention, philosophy and deep relaxation to calm the mind and deepen the breath. Her classes encourage awareness both mentally and physically, and create a positive, nurturing environment for students to learn, experiment and transform. Emma’s classes encourage and empower students to find their own ideal practice, and to create their own Sacred Space which they can return to again and again.

Emma’s yoga classes are the perfect balance of grounding and lifting, nourishing and rejuvenating. I come away feeling like I’ve equally engaged my mind, body and spirit which is what yoga is all about! Looking forward to another class soon
