Emma began her career with a degree in Fine Art. She then founded a small film and animation company making short films and animated stings. This led to set design, Art Directing, and Production Design where she built fantastical film sets and magical interiors to tell stories and take the imagination on a journey.
She then spent seven years art directing for an experiential creative production company, designing and building big brand experiences, beautiful pop up bars and interiors, narrative environments and luxury experiential events for brands to launch highly talked about new products, innovations and identities.
Her design sensibilities became more finely tuned to interior design when she bought and renovated her Victorian property in 2013. Rebuilding and reworking everything from digging out the basement to building a studio in the back garden, she quickly realised this was where her design destiny lay. While working on a freelance basis for a boutique interior design consultancy designing bars, restaurants and hotels, and teaching yoga both in London and abroad she decided to launch her own business specialising in creating spaces infused with peace, calm and sanctuary. Her yoga teaching career running along side her interior design practice creates a beautiful union of her two passions.
Emma has had a dedicated yoga practise for more than10 years. She is a 500 hours qualified Yoga Teacher registered with The Yoga Alliance Professionals. She has completed trainings with Patrick Beach and David Swenson.
Emma completed her 200 hours of teacher training at Sampoorna Yoga India in 2015. Since then she has taught regularly in London and on retreats in India and Colombia.
Emma completed her 300 hours of teacher training with The Yoga People in 2017 and this included modules in Rocket Yoga, Yin Yoga and Tripsichore.
Her background in dance and Capoeira (teaching both during her twenties) has infused her yoga with the joy of physical movement. She uses this passion to create dynamic, flowing, dance-like sequences, which she guides her students through gracefully, joining the movements with breath and creating a feeling of lightness, ease and deep relaxation for her students. Her love of handstands and inversions brings a sense of fun and play to her practice and her sequencing.
Emma uses Yin Yoga techniques to balance the dynamic and physically challenging Yang style of Ashtanga Vinyasa. She uses Yoga Nidra methods of intention, philosophy and deep relaxation to calm the mind and deepen the breath. Her classes encourage awareness both mentally and physically, and create a positive, nurturing environment for students to learn, experiment and transform through their yoga practice. Emma’s classes encourage and empower students to find their own ideal practice, and thus create their own Sacred Space which they can return to again and again.
"Emma's energy, warmth and dedication make her the most wonderful yoga teacher. She takes the time to get to know you inside and out as an individual and develops a tailored journey alongside you. Yoga is proving to be a truly transformative journey for me and I feel so lucky to have Emma beside me along the way."
“Emma is an amazing teacher whose love for yoga inspires you to try harder and constantly improve. Her positive attitude for life is contagious and puts you in a good mood instantly. I appreciate Emma’s ability to motivate me, boost my confidence to try new postures and improve the ones I thought I just couldn’t do.”
"Emma's classes are a wonderful balance of the active, the meditative and the spiritual. She thinks very hard about her students' experiences and how she can best meet their needs, whether by making sure she understands the physiology of each pose in depth, or creating the perfect environment with mantras and music. I always leave her classes in a very different space to when I went in!"
